Castle Bridge families have many different ways to support our children and the team of educators who tirelessly guide and support our children as they learn and grow. As a community we have agreed that one way we can offer support is to raise money to cover expenses above and beyond what the DOE has allocated to our school. Funds raised will support student activities, staff development, equipment purchases, and other needs identified by the school and community. As we begin our 4th year, the Castle Bridge community has two different sources for fundraising: the Castle Bridge PTA and Friends of Castle Bridge. Below is a summary of the division of labor between the two groups and how families can participate.
Castle Bridge PTA | Friends of Castle Bridge |
Funds raised by the PTA come primarily from families, friends, and neighborhood members who participate in Castle Bridge activities. | Friends is a nonprofit run by a board of parents that primarily solicits donations from outside the parent body and also runs additional projects within the community. |

Family Participation
In addition to participating in events, the PTA requests that families make a suggested donation to the school of $250 per child. Families are urged, if able, to use the $250 suggested donation as a bottom-line and to go above that if possible. |
Family Participation
Families are encouraged to join the Community Advisory Board (CAB), a group of volunteers who provide guidance on setting fundraising priorities that best meet the school’s needs. The CAB meets three times annually. To join the CAB or to volunteer in another capacity, please send an email to friendsofcastlebridge@gmail.com

Allocation
Fund distribution is governed by votes at monthly PTA meetings.

Allocation
Friends sets its fundraising priorities annually in conjunction with recommendations made by Julie, the PTA, and the CAB. The CAB meets three times each year to review funding requests.
